El-Sisi: the end of my term in 2030 is settled
The president also said Egypt’s constitution would not be touched.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said the end of his presidency in 2030 is “completely settled”, and stressed that Egypt’s constitution “will not be touched”.
Under Article 140 of the constitution, as amended in 2019, the presidential term was extended to six years. El-Sisi’s current term ends in 2030, and the constitution does not allow him to stand again.
The remarks came amid public debate in recent months about whether the constitution might be amended again.
