Dr Heba El Sewedy named among Forbes Middle East’s healthcare leaders
The founder of Ahl Masr Burn Hospital ranks 37th in the Founders & Shareholders category of the 2026 list.

Dr Heba El Sewedy has been named among Forbes Middle East’s Top Healthcare Leaders 2026, ranking No. 37 in the Founders & Shareholders category.

El Sewedy founded the Ahl Masr Foundation in 2013 and later established Ahl Masr Burn Hospital, inaugurated in March 2024. It is the first non-profit hospital in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa dedicated to the treatment, prevention and research of burns, and it treats patients from all backgrounds free of charge.
Room to grow
The hospital opened with 70 beds in its first phase, and is designed to reach 200 beds at full capacity.
Burns remain a serious public health problem in Egypt, particularly for children, and the hospital was set up to give victims access to specialised care that many could not otherwise afford.
