Is Tuana Elgohary Egypt’s next Cinderella?
Sixty years after Soad Hosny lit up the screen, a young actress has audiences looking twice.

Egypt had one Cinderella. Is she about to have another?

Soad Hosny, known to generations of Arab audiences as Cinderella of the screen, became one of the defining stars of Egyptian cinema from the 1960s, in films such as Khally Balak Men Zouzou. She died in London in 2001.
Now viewers say they see the same smile, the same elegance and the same expressive eyes in Tuana Elgohary, and side-by-side images of the two have been circulating widely. Some stars are born, and some, it seems, are reborn.
Do you see Soad in her?
