A dream became reality for Ali Mahmoud, who made his debut for Egypt’s senior national team.
The Al Ahly midfielder was the only newcomer in Hossam Hassan’s squad for the first two matches of qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations: Angola at Cairo International Stadium on 25 September, which ended 0–0, and South Sudan in Juba four days later.
His call-up is part of a wider push to bring fresh legs into the Pharaohs’ squad after the 2026 World Cup.
