Postcard: where the Nile tells its own story
A view of the river that has carried Egypt’s history for thousands of years.

Every Egyptian story runs, sooner or later, to the Nile. The river made farming possible in a land that is otherwise desert, and it remains the line along which most of the country still lives.
This is the first in a series of postcards from cairo.kmt: single images of the places that tie modern Egypt to its ancient past.
